This was undoubtedly one of the greatest adventures we’ve had at RestArts. We took on the 5,895 m of Kilimanjaro to record Tomi Misser’s documentary for Orbea Bicycles branded content was no easy task.
Although the first few days climbing the highest mountain in Africa are not technical or difficult, that all changes when you get bad weather. We decided to go during the rainy season and paid the price. From the first day, it rained incessantly, gradually turning to snow as we gained altitude.
We took advantage of a window of good weather to strike for the summit but missed the chance to do an acclimatisation day. This led one team member to suffer altitude sickness. He had to give up the summit attempt at 5,200 m and was evacuated to base camp.
A very difficult project, with extreme conditions and continuous complications every day. Branded content that reflects the spirit of the brand.
